Database Administrator - Job Description
As a Database Administrator, your key responsibilities would include the performance, integrity, and security of a database. Besides, you would be expected to efficiently plan and develop database along with troubleshooting complex problems. You should have the ability to clearly define the data and ensure that the data remains consistent throughout the database.
0-2 years of work experience in the IT industry or relevant educational background.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Firm understanding of data manipulation languages and database design principles.
Good understanding of IT business requirements is preferred.
Willingness to continuously learn and update with the latest technologies
Basic understanding of information legislation like the data protection act.
Tasks to be Performed as a Database Administrator
Thoroughly analyze the needs of the users and monitor their access and security.
Perform both data back-end for organizations and end-user’s front-end accessibility.
Regularly check if storage and archiving procedures are going-on properly.
Write data standards, procedures, data dictionary definitions, and database documentation.
Coordinate with the programmers and managers to ensure database integrity and security.
Commission and install new apps and customize existing apps.
